Hi. Macromedia offers a few different web authoring tools, each suited to
different tasks:
-Dreamweaver is best for WYSIWYG and hard-coding of HTML pages, or for coding
in a server environment such as Macromedia ColdFusion (Macromedia's server-side
scripting language)
-Flash is used to create interactive, animated movies which the user views
using a plugin in their browser. These can contain dynamic content, retrieved
from a server-side script
-Flex Builder is generally only used to build Flex scripts (rich Flash
forms...quite complicated, see its website if you want to know more)
-Homesite (which I use) is basically the same as Dreamweaver, but without some
of the features (including WYSIWYG design) - it's also a lot cheaper than
Dreamweaver. It's designed for coding in server environments (like PHP, Perl,
JSP, ColdFusion etc)
